Happy Valentine's Day...
...and Happy National Organ Donor Day!
We have something for the lovey-doveys and something for those who would rather give cupid the finger than have to acknowledge this day.
You may have heard that today is Valentine's day and I'm not a huge fan, personally. Not a fan of any holiday created for the sole purpose of recognizing those who should be honored and appreciated every day (i.e. Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.) ...not just when the cards and gifts show up at the stores. But, <thunk, thud, back flip and stick the landing> I'll be off my soap box now.
Despite the fact that I'm not a huge fan of the day, I have created some free Valentine's e-cards for you to view and share.
One is even a little bit spicy...sort of.

Alright, for those who are not interested in the day of cupids, hearts, and mediocre chocolates, today is also National Organ Donor Day, a day that has my full support. First things first, I am an organ donor. I wouldn't even feel comfortable acknowledging or discussing this topic if I was not.
Did you know that organ donors don't just donate major organs like kidneys, lungs, hearts, etc? Donors can also benefit those in need of eyes, skin tissue and even muscles, tendons, or ligaments.
My husband personally benefitted from a donor ligament in his knee. The doctors were not able to use one from another location in his own body because his are just too "stretchy". So, a ligament was taken from a donor and used in my husband's knee to keep his knee cap in place...speaking of which, organ donors can also donate knee caps to those in need.
While it's kind of a morbid thought to have it's also one of the most selfless acts. Why not donate parts of your body you no longer need after your time on Earth has ended? Your spare parts could prolong or even save the life of another human. Seriously, the most selfless gift you can possibly give because you're not even around to get the warm fuzzies about saving someone's life.
For more information on how to become a donor in your state, click the button below, select your state, and follow the instructions. It's that easy.
I would love to hear from you! Feel free to leave a comment, question, anything really (as long as it's kind). Would be thrilled to hear about how you share the e-cards and whether you've become an organ donor through the link above!
Enjoy!
Jamey
