Okay campers, rise, and shine, and don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there...
Updated: Sep 30, 2025
…it’s cold out there every day.
In honor of this glorious day, I have a free desktop wallpaper download and an homage to one of the greatest films and one of the greatest actors of all time. The film, of course, is Groundhog Day and the actor none other than the great William "Bill" James Murray. The man's work is genius and this film is no exception. Groundhog Day is arguably one of the most quotable films of our time, second only to Step-Brothers.
Here are a few of my favorite quotes:
Phil Connors: (to officer after getting pulled over) Hi, three cheeseburgers, two large fries, two milkshakes, and one large coke.
Ralph: And some flapjacks.
Phil Connors: Too early for flapjacks?
Phil Connors: I'm a god — I'm not the God, I don't think.
Phil Connors: (driving on the tracks towards an oncoming train) I'm betting he's going to swerve first
Phil Connors: There is no way that this winter is ever going to end as long as this groundhog keeps seeing his shadow. I don't see any other way out. He's got to be stopped. And I have to stop him.
Phil Connors: Well, what if there is no tomorrow? There wasn't one today.
So many more great quotes! If you want to watch on Groundhog Day, STARZ Encore is will be playing back-to-back starting at 6:00PM (Central) with the last showing at 12:30AM on 2/3/22...you can literally say "Well, it's Groundhog Day...again." as you watch. You can also watch on demand now on Spectrum.
Crossing my fingers that Punxsutawney Phil does not see his shadow so we can get Spring started. I imagine our friends in the North are beyond ready. I'm in Texas and even I am ready for Spring.
As promised, I've included a free February 2022 desktop wallpaper download. You can use this one to organize your desktop icons.
